Germination: Germinates in 3-7 days. Quick germination in comparison to other varietals’ 21-28 day germination.

Fertilization + Irrigation: Requires more irrigation and fertilization than other varietals.

Color: Darkest green of any grass varietal.

Sun: Requires full sun.

Weather tolerance: Doesn’t tolerate deep cold winters.

Traffic: Moderate hardiness to foot traffic.

Texture: Has a medium blade texture as a stand-alone grass. Can be blended for finer texture.

pH preference: Not as tolerant of low pH, prefers moderate or neutral pH.

Mowing: Mow to 2 inches, at the shortest, and never cut off more than 1/3 of the blade height at a time.

Of Note: Perennial ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass and fine fescue is a common mix for the typical home lawn with both sun and shade conditions.
