Community Enrichment

Natural turf draws people together. It provides a lush, green canvas for gatherings and celebrations, sports and games, and reconnecting and relaxing. And when lawns are well maintained, the community benefit is more than just the eye appeal.

Building Community

Michigan State University researchers studied neighborhoods in Flint, Michigan, before and after undertaking a community outreach plan to restore turf maintenance — removing weeds, mowing lawns and applying fertilizer at parks and homes. In surveying neighbors after the effort in 2012, social scientists found.

  • 68% of residents felt safer
  • 79% interacted more with their neighbors
  • 61% trusted neighbors more
  • 95% made home improvements as a result
  • 100% agreed there was less trash

Improving Neighborhood Value

According to the National Association of REALTORS Research Department’s 2018 Remodeling Impact report: Outdoor Features:

  • Standard lawn care service is the No. 1 project that appeals to buyers
  • Lawn care can return 267% of its cost, as estimated by landscape professionals

Moreover, beautifying a lawn with a standard lawn care project can enhance the quality of life.

  • 68% of consumers said they have a greater desire to be home since completing the project
  • 49% have an increased sense of enjoyment when they are at home
  • 154% feel a major sense of accomplishment when they think of the project
